Break the Hunger: Support Our Food Aid Appeal
Every day, over 821 million people face hunger. Countless individuals are unsure where their next meal will come from, often going to bed with empty stomachs. Despite there being enough food for all, 25,000 people die daily from hunger. Countries such as Syria, Yemen, Afghanistan, and Palestine are suffering greatly due to war. Deep-rooted poverty in numerous countries across Africa and Asia has left millions without food.
We Must End Hunger
To reduce food insecurity by providing free, nutritious food and essential household items to individuals and families experiencing hardship within our community.
Objectives:
- Provide emergency food support to vulnerable residents.
- Reduce food waste by partnering with local businesses.
- Support community wellbeing through referrals and additional services.
- Build a sustainable volunteer and donor network.
Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: “لَيْسَ الْمُؤْمِنُ الَّذِي يَشْبَعُ وَجَارُهُ جَائِعٌ إِلَى جَنْبِهِ
He is not a believer whose stomach is filled while his neighbor goes hungry.
أَفْضَلُ الصَّدَقَةِ إِطْعَامُ الطَّعَامِ
The best charity is to satisfy a hungry person.
How You Can Help
Giving Healthly and Nutrition Food
Access to nutritious foods(Vegetable, Fruits, Milk, Meats) is essential for maintaining good health and preventing diseases, particularly for children and vulnerable populations.
Community Kitchens
Establishing community kitchens to provide hot, nutritious meals to the most vulnerable populations, including children, the elderly, and displaced persons.
Emergency Food Packages
We distribute essential food packages containing staples such as rice, flour, lentils, oil, and canned goods to families in need.
Support Hot Meals
For £45, you can help us provide hot, nutritious meals to 60 vulnerable people. These meals are vital for those who do not have the means to cook or access a kitchen.
Core Food Bank Service
Emergency food parcels
We provide ready-made food parcels packed with essential groceries to families facing urgent need. These parcels offer immediate relief when it's needed most.
Fresh produce distribution
We distribute fresh fruits and vegetables to ensure families have access to healthy, nutritious food. This helps promote better health alongside basic food security.
Household essentials
Beyond food, we provide everyday household items that families often struggle to afford. These essentials help ease the broader burden of daily living costs.
Our Food Supply Strategy
To keep our Food Bank running and reach as many families as possible, we rely on a diverse network of donors and partners. Together, these sources ensure a steady, reliable supply of food for those who need it most.
- Community Donations : Supported by generous contributions from individual donors, local schools, faith groups, and community-organized food drives.
- Business Partnerships : Working with major supermarkets such as Tesco, Sainsbury's, Aldi, and Lidl, along with local restaurants and wholesalers, to secure regular food supplies.
- Surplus Food Programmes : Partnering with organizations dedicated to redistributing surplus food, helping reduce waste while supporting families in need.
- Ongoing Partnership Development: Continuously building new relationships with businesses and organizations to strengthen and expand our food supply network.
